Cuban missile crisis

The Cuban Missile Crisis, one of the most terrifying periods in history, occurred in October 1962.  The Soviet Union had covertly stationed nuclear weapons in Cuba, which the United States found out about.  This led to a serious crisis that nearly brought both nations—and the entire world—to nuclear war.  The Soviet Union and Cuba claimed that the United States was endangering their security, and the United States requested that the Soviet missiles be taken out of Cuba.  Delegates to the UN Security Council will talk about the crisis and try to find a peaceful solution in order to lower tensions and prevent a military conflict.
